How To Write Irresistible Prose – The Secret of Compelling Elements

The secret of writing irresistible prose is infusing solid writing skills with compelling elements.

If you can write a sentence, you can write irresistible prose.

In my opinion, the first job of any piece of writing is to get attention. Not just attention once but over and over again with each new sentence, paragraph, page and chapter.

What are compelling elements?

I’m glad you asked! Here is your very own cheat sheet that you can use to write compelling emails, letters, memos, short stories, screenplays and novels.

Cheat Sheet of Compelling Elements

  • Conflict
  • Tension
  • Question
  • Mystery
  • Word choice
  • Sentence structure
  • Character
  • Action
  • Setting
  • Context
  • Contrast
  • Description
